The 15th AFC asian cup final will be held on Qatar  from 7th to 29th January 2011 and this is the second time Qatar Qatar  along with India  and iran  were willing to host the tournament  but later India  withdrew and iran Qatar  who is also hosting the FIFA  world cup 2022 was announced as a host  of 15th AFC cup in 29th July 2007 AFC ASIAN CUP in Jakarta

  President Mohamed Bin Hammam said he was confident the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011™ finals will be the best ever in the tournament’s history.
Speaking to members of the AFC Executive Committee here on Wednesday, Bin Hammam said the January 7-29 tournament will set new standards of excellence.
“The AFC Asian Cup is kicking off soon and I hope we call will be able to witness it,” said Bin Hammam, a Qatari.
The 2011 tournament features 16 of the top teams inAsia  divided into four groups of four with the top two in each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
The Qatar Local Organising Committee has gone to great lengths to ensure a smooth tournament and create a unique festival atmosphere.
They have already unveiled a five-strong family of Jerboas (desert rodents) as mascots while the 16 buses ferrying the teams will carry slogans written by fans.
