Ten Men Nepal won against Timore Leste in world cup qualifier 2014!!!

Nepal Vs Timore Leste
History was created on Wednesday here in Kathmandu  at Dashrath stadium when Nepal won their first World Cup qualifiers match at home as they toiled hard to beat minnows Timor Leste 2-1 at Dasrath Stadium.

The win for Nepal was sweeter as they did with 10-man. Bharat Khawas was double yellow carded and had to leave the field. However, Gorkhali showed their composure, dominated the field and scored winning goal.

It was Anil Gurung who put Nepal ahead in the game. Gurung scored cool spot kick in 15th minute.

Timor Leste stunned everyone present at the stadium when Correira curled the free kick inside the net when Nepalese keeper  Kiran Chemzong failed to make good combination with his defenders.

Jumanu Rai, who earlier squandered as many as three clear goal scoring chances, headed home with his fantastic header off Biraj Majarjan's cross in 69th minute.Nepal will face Timore Leste in its second match in the same ground. Even the draw is sufficient to reach the next round of world cup qualifier where Nepal will face Jordan!!

CAN selected seven new cricketers who were no part of the ACC event. They are Jitendra Mukhiya, Subendu Pandey, Amit Dahal, Amrit Shrestha, Amit Shrestha, Rupesh Srivastav and Nischal Pandey. Jagat Tamata is named the coach.
“We dropped Bibek Dali, Rahul Pratap Singh and Shiva Tandukar from the team played in the ACC event for their international as well as national performance was below par,” chief selection Bijaya Sharma said.

Sharma also added that the performance of the U-19 players during the qualifiers could promote some of the players to the national squad. “We didn’t announce the national team because we want to see how these young players perform,” he said.

Nepal to face the Sri Lankan Challenge in last match of AFC Challenge cup Qualifier Group-D

Nepal will come out at Dashrath Stadium eyeing nothing less than a win against Sri Lanka at the AFC Challenge Cup Group D qualifiers on Monday. Nothing less than a win will be enough for the home team to qualify. Both teams know each other well because they have played each other a number of times. In fact, on paper both teams are equally balanced though Sri Lankan have upper hand as they had won 7 among 11 match played between two teams. Nepal have 3 win in their favor while one was a draw. With Nepal a spot above Sri Lanka which is 173rd in the FIFA ranking there is not much difference.

However, Nepal’s recent performance has been promising and the team jubilant with victory against physically fit Afghanistan and a well fought 0-1 loss against North Korea has brought positive change to the team.
Sri Lankan, on the other hand, are yet to win a match as they lost their inaugural match against North Korea 0-4 and were humbled by Afghanistan 0-1.
According to Nepal’s English coach Graham Paul Roberts, his team will not settle for anything less than a win. “We can’t take chances as it is a big game which we have to win,” the Brit said, “But I am positive we will win as we have worked hard for the last ten weeks.”
With Anil Gurung and Jumanu Rai in the starting line up, Roberts is confident they will win the battle. Rohit Chand will also play his part. But Sagar Thapa’s twisted right ankle is a problem.
“I will decide on the team on Monday morning after looking at Thapa’s progress,” Roberts said, “If he is fit by then, that will be a boost for the team.”

A confident Roberts also urged local supporters to turn up to boost the morale of their team. “Come and chant for us and we will not disappoint you.”
However Sri Lankan have nothing to lose, so they are not under pressure. Sri Lanka´s assistant coach Damodor Chandrashree is also not in the mood to give up. “We will do our best against Nepal,” he had said during a pre-tournament press conference.

With all four teams having played two matches each, defending champions DPR Korea, maintaining a 100 percent record, are atop the table with six points, while Nepal and Afghanistan share the second spot with three points each. Even Nepal and Afghanistan along with strong North Korea already had point in points table every team has chance to Qualify for the second round.
At Halchowk Stadium, Afghanistan will battle it against the group toppers North Korea on Monday. Afghanistan just like Nepal need but a win to qualify while North Korea are in a comfortable place with two wins from as many matches.

Holi( Falgu Purnima) is being celebrated today at hilly region of the country!!!

One of the Greatest festival of Hindu,  Holi also called as falgu purnima is celebrated all over the country today and in some part of Nepal it will be celebrated tomorrow.
Holi

Holi is celebrated as a welcoming of Spring, and a celebration of the triumph of good over evil. What that translates to in action is an enthusiastic dropping of inhibitions, as people chase each other and playfully splash colorful paint, powder and water on each other.
Holi

People also attend bonfires to commemorate the story of Prahlada, a Hindu figure and devout follower of Lord Vishnu who prevailed over his father and the demoness Holika with the power of his devotion. It is a festival of color. In the season spring we get color so this festival reminds it the season as arrived. We get colorful flowers and plants in spring and that is shown by this color festival.

Colors
People get entertained by playing color, throwing each other and throwing water balloons. People celebrate this as a means of harmony. Some times it gets wild these days, while throwing in force to unwanted . People play with water in friend circle and  in neighbour hood. We can buy many powdered color in red/white/pink/green/yellow. Some make black with mobile which is hard to remove later. Young girls are the target to throw such water balloons and color. There is a popular folk newari song speciality of holi festival.

People walk down their neighbourhoods to celebrate Holi by exchanging colours and spraying coloured water on one another. A popular activity is the throwing of water balloons at one another, sometimes called lola(meaning water balloon) Also a lot of people mix bhang in their drinks and food, as also done during Shivaratri. It is believed that the combination of different colours played at this festival take all the sorrow away and make life itself more colourful.
